Just by existing, Bandcamp shows that Spotify’s exploitative model isn’t inevitable. Perhaps there’s a lesson there that we can apply to other services. Maybe it isn’t inevitable that Facebook is the only social network, or Google is the only search engine. If we were to change our own behaviour, their inevitability would fade into dust.
